Join a PIPE Committee

Committee work is a great way to get more involved in the work of PIPE, meet new colleagues, and grow your skills as an educator. It also counts towards Campuswide Service. Committee work requires a modest time commitment (committees meet 8-10 times/year with limited work outside of committee meetings).

We are seeking new members for these committees:

  • Classroom Curriculum Subcommittee
  • Simulation Curriculum Subcommittee
  • Clinical Curriculum Subcommittee
  • Professional Development Committee

If you are interested in joining the work of PIPE, please complete this form.

Spotlight on Interprofessional Collaboration Scholars

The IPCS Program is an opportunity for UCSF health professions students to engage in further interprofessional collaboration activities and scholarship, through small group work, simulation, projects, scholarship, and interprofessional clinical immersion experiences. Our IP Scholars may be able to provide some support to your work or participate in your activities to meet IPCS program requirements. If you are seeking a mentoring or coaching opportunity, please contact [email protected]. Thank you for directing any students who would be interested in joining the IPCS Program to the IPCS CLE website.

We are proud to highlight some of our current IPCS Scholars:

Kimberlee Hu

Kimberlee Hu, Physical Therapy Student, Class of 2026

I joined the IPCS Program to explore more opportunities to collaborate with other health professional students in preparation for working on a multidisciplinary care team. While participating in the Pediatric CCS Elective, I identified the focus of my IPCS project, designing an easily accessible, easy-to-read spreadsheet that lists diagnosis specific outcome measures, norms, and additional resources in one document. This will improve interprofessional communication with the MDs at Children's Hospital, and can support PTs when it comes to discussing surgical versus nonsurgical options with MDs at their monthly interprofessional medical therapy clinic.

Skyler Gaughan

Skylar Gaughan, UC Berkeley-UCSF JMP Medical Student, Class of 2027

I am deeply interested in the UCSF Program for Interprofessional Practice and Education (PIPE) because it aligns with my commitment to improving healthcare through collaboration and teamwork. As someone passionate about advancing psychiatry and gender-affirming care, I recognize the transformative potential of interprofessional practice in addressing complex patient needs. This program offers an incredible opportunity to deepen my skills in working effectively with diverse healthcare teams, fostering innovation, and enhancing patient outcomes. I am drawn to the program’s focus on integrating practical experiences and teamwork, which are essential for creating a more inclusive and effective healthcare system.
